Enrolment Procedure

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

Complete and return our Application Form and Enrolment Pack, along with paying the application fee (banking details included in the form). Hard copies of these forms are available at the preschool. Accompanying documents will also be required as listed in the Enrolment Pack.

You will receive a confirmation of your application and be invited to come in with your child to meet with the Director or Administrative Officer for an orientation. If your child has seen any early intervention specialists (such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, child psychologist etc,) please bring along reports, together with any Medical Action Plans.

At this orientation, we will discuss with you how we can best support the needs of your child, along with looking at the availability of places and potential start dates.

Enrolment Fee

There is a non-refundable enrolment fee of $40.

preschool readiness

Our educators are keen to make sure our curriculum and learning environment will meet the interests and developmental needs of enrolling children. We want all children to feel safe, successful and capable, and for this reason, we use the following readiness indicators to help determine preschool readiness for each child prior to their attendance at our service. We realise that not all children (particularly those new to Montessori education) will have mastered all of these skills but expect that with a little help, they will soon achieve independence in the mentioned areas.

Readiness Indicators:

  • Your child is interested and able to sit with educators and other children at a table or on a mat to explore learning materials.

  • Your child is interested and able to join groups for singing and storytelling or reading for short periods.

  • Your child can follow simple directions.

  • Your child can make their own selection of work or activity.

  • Your child can communicate their needs and wants.

  • Your child has the beginnings of self-care, dressing themselves, pulling pants up and down, opening water bottle and food containers.

  • Your child is able to be careful with toys and equipment.

  • Your child can use the toilet independently. (We can offer support and reminders as required while the child transitions to full independence, however children should be recognising the sensation of needing to use the toilet and be able to take themselves or ask for help. We are not able to accept children in pull-ups or nappies.)

When enrolling please let us know if you have any concerns, or wish to discuss ideas to support your child’s learning.
